What are you watching/streaming?

I'm loving Pluribus! Rhea was fantastic in Breaking Bad, and just sensational in Better Call Saul, so I'm stoked she got her own series, she's a great actress and really enjoyable to watch.

I see there's a lot of reviews complaining she's a Karen in the show, which just goes to illustrate that the entire premise of "the most miserable person on Earth" went straight over their heads!

Some other series I have queued up to watch are Robin Hood and Tulsa King. Tulsa King blew me away with just how good it is, and how great Stallone is in it. I always liked him as a very cliched type of action actor and nothing more, but this series is just awesome and he's quite amazing in it. I'd put it right up there slightly behind Reacher in action and enjoyment. And of course it's always a good day when Dana Delany is onscreen!

The new Robin Hood is a little "meh" at times, but it's starting to build up momentum by the 3rd episode, and is an easy relaxing watch. Don't think it will win any awards but it's an enjoyable waste of time.

Talamasca and IT: Welcome to Derry are two others I'm waiting for the rest of the eps to drop so I can binge them!

Slow Horses. Just finished the new season. Can't wait for the next.

Also just finished a rather old British series that I thoroughly enjoyed...Foyle's War. British detective too old to serve in WWII but too young not to do something. Interesting mix of murder mystery and historical docu-drama.

Slow Horses is the bomb, I love Brit shows, Graham Norton, Brit humor. Lived there third to sixth grade with family while Dad was in Air Force. Dad retired after 22 years. I was born while he was in Navy, two brothers born while in Air Force and he retired from Army when I was 19. We lived three years in Britain and three in west Germany. Long strange road looking back from 72, to be 73 next month🤪

I think few countries do comedies and intrigue shows to the level the Brits do consistently. I can't stand the Downton Abbey stuff so for me that's the exception, but generally they can take a subject that would seem so boring and turn it into riveting viewing.

The creators behind Slow Horses have a new series "Down Cemetery Road" out. Different kind of show, but same British aesthetic. For an American in England perspective, try "The Agency" on Paramount.

I highly recommend "The Diplomat." Two seasons done so far. Intelligent dialog, good action, not predictable.

For Sci-Fi fans, "Foundation" (Issac Asminov) is great. "Dark Matter" was a limited series that's pretty good, and "Paradise" on Hulu isn't bad, either. And, of course, there's "Severance" and "The 3 Body Problem." There's also "Fallout."

For fun, "Wednesday" is great. At first I didn't think anyone could out-do Christina Ricci's portrayal in the movie, but Jenna Oretega nails it, with Tim Burton directing. Oh, and Ricci has more than a cameo role in it, too, now that she's older.

Wifey and I are watching three series, The Last Frontier, Cemetery Road and Pluribus

@smorgasbord Foundation, what a series! I'm praying they go the whole 8 seasons as originally floated, as it's such an epic story!

I think it's by far the best Sci-Fi series around, with Raised By Wolves coming in second. I was so disappointed they cancelled that one.

I also really enjoyed the first season of Dune Prophecy, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this one develops.

Maybe a good second thread would be "Great Series that were Cancelled Too Soon"

My nominations:
"The OA"
"Man in the High Castle"
"Showtime" (about the LA Lakers)
"Deadwood"

Of these, only "The OA" was a total rug pull. For High Castle and Showtime, they knew they were getting cancelled and so tried wrapping everything up in the last season/show of the seaon. For Deadwood, they came back and made a 2-hour special.

I think Firefly is the GOAT for a cancelled series!

The studio screwed that one up so badly. But at least they wrapped it up with the film some time later.

Deadwood was terrific and Anson Mount just made that role, although I just can't get used to his over the top boofy hairdo in Star Trek!

I would add Arrested Development to the cancelled too soon list. It was cancelled by Fox in 2006 after the first three seasons, got a bunch of publicity, then came back with Netflix for season 4 in 2013 and season 5 in 2018.

So technically the series spanned 15 years! ;-)

I really like British TV shows, especially police or detective type shows. I went so far as to add BritBox to my Prime account.
Currently, I have been watching City on a Hill. It's a Boston PD show, set in the early 1990s. They have even made references to the Big Dig, in the series. Apparently was originally on Showtime in the 2020s
Eventually, I'm going to get back to Walking Dead. I started it, from the beginning, but lost track of it, when I cut the cable. That was before the spinoffs started, so I'm behind on all of it. Winter is coming, so I'm going to try to catch up.

Which Walking Dead, there's about 50,000 of them now! ;-)

I do have to say, I was amazed Fear The Walking Dead was allowed to continue, if ever there was a show you wished just about all the characters would die that was it!

Yup, gotta give that one its due, with the Serenity movie conclusion, format copied by Deadwood. City on the Hill took me a while to get into, and then it got cancelled. I'd rather watch "The Departed" if you want a Boston thing.

My wife prefers "Limited Series" offerings because then you know it's going to have a good conclusion.

Going the other way, "Lost" went on too long and then had the worst ending. And yes, I've watched the "Lost Ending Explained" youtube videos. My wife thinks "Severance" will also end badly.

I love Severance, it's such a bizarre and original series, but Lost, my god the ending was just disgusting! It was like investing 6 years into committing into seeing something through, and then being slapped in the head with a tuna while they point and laugh at you.

The way they handled the dispute with the writers, and then the explanation of the show was utter garbage, way worse than when they pulled the "thank god it was all a dream" scenario when they brought Bobby Ewing back from the dead after a couple seasons in Dallas!

Season 5 of Slow Horses was good and too short. I was excited to see Season 6 already in preview!

I have a feeling they filmed Seasons 5 and 6 at the same time.

The actors and crew can only be retained for a short time, thusly those two seasons are condensed.

While in London recently for five days, I was tempted to ask the wife to have a seat on The River Bench. But she doesn’t watch the show, so it has zero meaning to her. I did not put it on the list.

By the way, the Victoria & Albert Museum was amazing!

I like Foyle’s War too but I think they shohave skipped the last season. Remember that impression but can’t remember the plot.
