You may have noticed... (or maybe not).... that I have been unusually silent for quite some time now, and while I neither died nor left FOG, there is a very good reason. The first photo is the back of our home, ironically, shot last year, while making sure my old Olympus OM1's were in good working order for our daughter's November wedding. Yes, I still use film?..

The rest, my son took with his digital camera on January 4th of this year... The neighbor's Cypress tree uprooted during record wind gusts that day, laid over on our house, broke in half at the ridge, the top tumbling down the other side and settling in the next yard, as branches perforated our roof along the way. Amazingly, not one window or skylight was broken. Our son was in his attic bedroom, under the right hand skylight and got an up close & personal view of the whole event, being not 15' from impact. Fortunately, nobody hurt...

To add insult to injury, the cleanup crew our homeowners insurance sent in to remove wet drywall and carpet, also removed $26K of my wife's jewelry.... (just think how much Festool stuff that could have bought).... So, while FOG has become my browser homepage, most of my keyboard time has unfortunately been spent corresponding, negotiating, pleading, threatening and organizing.... with three different insurance adjusters as the damage assessment kept rising (now at $200K), the structural engineer, lawyer, police, building department, contractors......

to be continued......
