What's the maximum length of text allowed in a post?

Hi FOG folks and moderators,

I'm preparing a new posting for the Festool Tool Reviews board and my text has already reached 1,400 words, or about 8,500 characters.

(I'll also be adding four modest sized images, but I know we can post this number of images OK. I'm just worried about my long text.)

Will I need to split this chunk of (approximately) 8,500 'characters' into two (or more?) separate posts?

Thanks in advance,
Colin P.

I don't think that there is a limit to characters typed.  But I would suggest that you type in another application and copy and paste.  Or type in the forum software and copy and paste into another application so that if there is an issue you don't loose everything.

Learned this the hard way many times in the early days.

Thank you Peter,

Yes ... losing text like that is a lesson we only need to learn once  [smile] and I've been there!

I prepare my blurbs these days in good ol' Notepad, and copy & paste into the forum boxes.

I'll be posting this new one soon.
Thanks again.
Colin P.

There's a practical limit to what most people are prepared to read.

Very true RL  [big grin]  But que será, será (whatever will be will be.)

I'm seldom 'brief', but I write as I write and I'll accept the risk of being un-read.
Best regards,
Colin P.
