I want to try the mft hole system but just use it on my own table is there any plans to get one made up or a way to get the dimensions I assume they are best cut with a Cnc cutter
My main aim is to cut 90degree cuts with the ts easily

Looks like they are 20mm homes 96 mm apart is that right ?

Yep, and all you need to make your own ‘hole set’ is a plunge router with a 20 mm bit, a rail with a stop and 96mm long wood blocks. There is a (German) video by Holzwerken.de (on YouTube) that shows the procedure (starts at around 11 minutes in):

You can make one with the LR-32 line boring set. I have made many table tops over the past 20 years. If you plan on getting the 2.4m rail, get the one with the holes, then once you have the 1010 router, you get the LR-32, which can be used for many things in cabinetry and finish carpentry.

I just bought one of these jigs from ebay..
I plan on making a loooong mft one day  [smile]

have you got the link to ebay ?
although it looks a lot easier to buy the ready made ones on ebay some are about 45

has any one got a 90 degree setup which is smaller based on a square ? maby you could use the dogs but only a few and then move the work piece around, just something that helps you square the ts rail 90 d off your straight cut ?

Here you go mate http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mft-Jig-To-Make-Replacment-Festool-Mft-Tops-/321851032290?

Yeah obviously easier to buy a replacement one but i want to make custom sized ones when i build my new workshop.
festool also sell 2m long mft profiles so you could also make a sweet custom 2m long mft/3 etc

That's a good jig, mind, if you are interested you better get one soon, as looking at his lack of dust collection (and blowing the excess off) from MDF that can't be good for his health.

yeah was gona say he is trying his best to get cancer ! i hate mdf would like the jig in something other than mdf really !

If you have the LR32 rails and the LR32 guide sled for drilling what would normally be 5mm holes, the solution is at your fingertips.  The LR32 rail has their series of holes set that you can index 96mm on center holes perfectly.  With the guide sled and your router outfitted with a 20mm bit, it's easy peasy.  The most challenging is likely lining up the rows of holes so they are square and ligned up 96mm apart from one row to the next, but that shouldn't be too difficult figuring out how to do that.

what is the distance from the edge to the outside holes ? is it 96mm as well ?

If you are making your own size table (not a replacement to fit in an MFT frame) the distance from the sides doesn't matter.  The matrix of holes is what matters and their constant pattern.
