Hi foggers I'm at a point that I'm in need of clamps 600mm up in size been looking at bessy and Dakota clamps. Have not got the biggest budget but its a start .Hope you guys can point me in the right direction.  Thanks luke

if you havent need them this far then they wont be a key tool for you. i would get some of the jet ones or simialar. then save up for a few bessey ones. iv got 4 cheap ones and they do everything i want them to . i have 4 t bars as well for when i need more power.
id love bessey ones but cant justify having them sitting on the wall doing nothing.

Hi
Luke

It all depends on what you want to clamp and how much wellie you need.I have some really cheap ones which are fine for dominoed sheet goods

with clamps I think that quantity over quality would be the way to go,and  you can never have enough

hey people thanks for the fast responce. I'm going to be makings some custom units , a dinning table, some internal doors and 2 side boards. where can i look and buy the jet clamps.

i often use the t bars for getting the parts shoved together on barge jobs and use the cheaper ones to hold it there .

If You are near a Woodcraft store they carry the Jet and Bessey lines of clamps. They also have Jorgenson and some Woodriver ones too. The Jet and Bessey seem to be the best quality, very stout with the Jets having more features but similar build quality to the Bessey clamps. Of course the Jet clamps cost more due to having scales printed on the bars as well as a separate lever to release the clamp head for positioning. I have some Bessey's, Jogenson and Woodriver clamps. I like the Bessey and Jorgenson ones the best and hope to get some Jet clamps in the future. And yes you can never have enough clamps. Same goes for routers, but that is another complete topic for later contemplation.

Luke the Jet clamps aren't available in the UK. The Bessey clamps are just as good, if not better. We have some offers on Bessey at the moment. Let me know if I can help.
