Whistling noise with the 27mm hose from the CT MINI

I recently got a CT-MINI to compliment my CT-26 and I've noticed that the 27mm hose that comes with the CT-MINI makes quite a whistling noise compared to the 27mm hose that came with the CT-26.  It's definitely the hose, if I move it to the CT-26 it makes the same sound.

Has anyone had the same experience with that hose and is there anything I can sand down or trim to calm down that whistle?

First thing I would check is the tool end.  Take it apart and check to see if everything is tight or threaded together properly.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. But...  are we even still talking to you around here after that picture you posted of a big stack of Bosch tools?  [tongue]

Well, my Bosch VAC090A  doesn't not make that kind of noise............ [tongue]  [poke]

I'm already in bed for the night, so if I went down and tried it now I might end up in the ER with a lot of explaining to do [eek].  I'll take apart the connector tomorrow.

I have a newer CT mini (january?).  My hose also whistles.
Newer ct-mini also means newer tapered hose.  I'm presuming this is why your old one does not go woo woooooo.

What part of the newer hose is tapered?

Not your hose.  But the newer hose with the sleeve is tapered.

Some people need to study the 2016 Festool catalog.  [tongue]  [poke]    (that was a joke guys.....calm down)

Eric

Eric, the current 27mm hoses are tapered, regardless of the sleeve (the sleeved one might be a different taper, though).

Festool changed the hose on the CT's ? ? ?    Well that's a horse of a different color.  The only tapered hose I was aware of is the sleeved hose.  I'm going off the 2016 catalog.  It doesn't state that the CT's come with a tapered hose.

I guess will the Bosch shopping spree I've been on I'm out of the Festool loop.  [embarassed]

It's not something they mentioned in any literature that I'm aware of.
I am, however, aware that the noise is unbearable  A solution looking for a problem will always find one that it made.

Also ran, it appears that I need a new bag.  Or so says the mess I just made on my floor.

Let me offer my apology for the smart a$$ remark about studying the 2016 catalog.    I had no clue that the hose was changed.

One would think that a tapered hose supplied with a CT would be stated in the catalog.  Unless I have a old 2016 catalog.  [blink]

It is still 2016.........right ?

Eric

So, while cleaning up the mess I made (fresh bag), I noticed that my hose doesn't whistle as loudly as it once did.  The hose garage does a fine job of beating said hose up (as do I); so I'm gonna apply my accoustical knowledge and presume that wear and tear will rid it of that high pitched resonating frequency.
