Walked past the soon to be BBQ joint in my Alexandria, VA neighborhood and was a bit surprised to see someone running a TS55. Looked to have a fair collection of Festools with them as well.

So, anyone here working on the Pork Barrel kitchen and seating area install?

Would have stopped to say hi on Friday, but had a toddler in one hand and a client on the phone in the other.

Hi, We'll be working in Alexandria (the city) later this week.  Where is the new bbq joint?

Rob,

It's in Del Ray, right on Mt. Vernon Ave. Sort of between Old Town and National Airport.

Been waiting patiently (ha) for it to open so I can start walking down for lunch.

Best,
Steve

Hi Steve...we'll be waiting for it to open!

For all our FOG friends, if you're  ever in Alexandria, VA, this is a great place to eat lunch, near where Steve lives:

When I first started as a gopher/ clean up man back in 1980, I would get sent to Al's on a regular basis! They keep a big glass container of hot peppers on the counter and there would be hell to pay if I did not come back with a handful!

I'm curious as to who you saw working as well, I very rarely see Festools on job sites in NVA.

Walked by there this morning, but no one was working. I'll check back this week, as I was rather surprised. Sort of like catching the secret Masonic handshake in action  [tongue]

It's been slow going there, but the BBQ is supposed to be outstanding. Or at least that's what I've heard from those lucky enough to have had a taste.

Al's is still going strong judging by the lines I see there.

Fatroman,

I don't live in your area but I think it might me cool for everyone who owns a Festool to post their name, address, and where they keep their tools.  It might also be helpful to let us know when you will be home and if you have any alarms, vicious dogs or poisonous snakes on the premises.

Sounds to me like it's just down the street from the Birchmere.

[smile]

Not far from the Birchmere at all. Which is a fine live music venue for those not from around here.

Pretty lucky to live where we do. I can walk to just about anything I need (though walking to a Festool dealer would be an improvement)  [smile]
