Why is it T15 "+3" but C15?

+3 is a marketing thing....it is to show you that while it is a 15 volt machine it has the power of an average 18 volt drill...due to the motor control tech and kind of motor used.

Thery probably dropped it with the C15 because they realised it was BS and led to a lot of cunfusion.

Jacobs cuck, Centrotec chuck, Eccentric chuck, Depth Stop chuck -- that's four, unless you count the right-angle adaptor as a chuck, then five.

Or one (two if counting R-A-a) if it's how many at a time.

I was thinking right angle, offset and depth as the three chucks that are different than the regular chuck and Centrotec...I know it is a stretch.

none of the chuck-counting-ideas apply ONLY to the t-drills and not to the c-drills. so that cannot be the reason.
what tallgrass and alex suggested sounds most reasonable to me. anyways, what is the "official" answer to this? shane? peter?

I can't speak for Festool and give an "official answer", but I believe that both these responses are correct - illustrating that their 15 volt drill compares to competitors' 18 volt drills (+3 volts).  I have been looking for a video interview where I think Rick Bush answered that question during the interview.  I don't know if you have ever tried looking for a Festool video on the internet.  Boy there are A LOT!

oh.    I always thought T15 +3 meant you get 3 years warranty with it.    Seems odd for festool to put +3 to claim its equal to 18V  doesn't seem very professional but then also +3 = warranty would also be odd now I think about it as they would put +3 on allll the tools

ok guys, here's what i got from festool germany (translated):

The "+3" does not have a meaning anymore. It was created in the process of developing the t-drills and just was not transferred to the later developed c-drills.

that's pretty much what you already said but this is the "official" answer.
