Why so expensive?

Can someone explain why systainers from toolnut are DOUBLE the price from other places??? It's nuts

Apples and Oranges, the two examples you gave are not the same item.

The Anthracite version is sold out on the SystainerStore site so no current
price listed so it is not possible to make a true comparison apple to apple.

Sorry, but it is closer to Apples to Apples than oranges; Systainer store prices are consistent between Anthracite and Light Gray. The other colors are a couple bucks more.

This is also not an XXL only thing; across the board on Toolnut they are all almost double the price.

So, the major point of my post why the price disparity? It's so much more it made me annoyed enough to post haha.

Just wondering if a huge price hike is coming and time to stock up.

Anthracite cases from Tanos are cheaper over here than grey ones from Festool - and they still have T-Locs available ….

We live in a bizarro mirror world these days.

TANOS has two "standard" configurations:

- Anthracite with Anthracite features
- Light Gray with Blue features

These are their "volume" plays and both are sold /by TANOS to whoever/ at the same price. That said, TANOS does NOT sell directly. Not unless you are a business with a signifficant order.

They have no retail "arm" so you will see prices all over the place. Depending what path /time, how many resellers, mode of transport etc./ the stock took to reach its final shelf/etail store.

It is easily possible Toolnut got the Anthracite ones at a high price - be it from a special order or whatever - and so stuck with it - that would also explain they sold out of the Light Grey ones while these stayed in stock ..

There is little point in trying to dig into these "anomalies". Not unless you want to dig into the Toolnut internal finances, that is.

It could also be a shipping issue, a few years ago I ordered several orange Systainers from Lee Valley. If I wanted them "immediately" I was going to have to pay $75 each for shipping. So Lee Valley contacted Tanos and then informed me that if I could wait until Tanos was shipping a complete "container" the shipping would be absorbed. So I waited and 4 months later they arrived at the door.  [smile]

Who knows what the Tool Nut issues are?
