Why...who knows...this whole social media thing is nothing but a bunch of BS. I don't subscribe to any of it and I don't care about it. Twenty years ago it was the A-listers that were the talk of the town, then the B-listers started to elbow their way into the arena because they felt they were being neglected, waa, waa, waa. Now we're stuck with the influencers & everyone else that can afford a $10 camera, a $2 microphone and can produce a 10 minute video, that suddenly feel the need to weigh-in socially. Like they have anything really important to say, [eek] other than subscribe to my channel and give me a thumbs up.
There's a very poorly scripted and produced gun channel (and I do like firearms) that produces over $1,000,000 annually for the owner. While there is also a very elegantly produced train channel (and I do like trains) that produces less than $50,000 annually for the owner...it's all about likes and subscriptions but it's certainly not about substance or content produced.
It's all about $$$, I get that but the concept has been bastardized beyond being the original idea of being a service to the consumer and just a self-serving cash generator for the originator. Tragic.
