width of festool guide rails

Hi, I am getting some of my green tools shipped a few 000 km across Canada. Can someone give me the width of the guide rails? I think I will have them taped to some 2x material before packing so they don't get bent.

They're about 185-186mm depending on how much you've trimmed from the strip.

Festool's packaging for the longer rails consists of hardboard and a frame of thin wood strips, with a tight fit for the rail. Strong, functional and durable (you get to reuse the stuff!).

If you are going to tape your rails to a more durable surface you might also want to use the holes at each end of the rail and screw them down as insurance.
