Will a 27 mm hose end fit a 2 1/2 hose

I am thinking of adding a 27 mm hose to my 2 1/2" dust collector.  Will the end of the hose fit into the end of a 2 1/2" hose?

Well, a 27mm hose is 1.062in.

So it will fit inside it, but will require some help to stay there.

I should have stated the end of the hose that plugs into the vacuum not the tool end

The vac-end of the hose fits a majority of shop vacs (e.g. Craftsman, Ridgid, etc.). I believe those are 2-1/2"?
