Will the mini/midi vacs take the bigger hose?

bigger hoses do not come with a right angle adapter as far as I know I have bought a few larger hoses and they didnt come with any.

I dont know what the fitting is like for the Mini cus I dont have one!  I assume you will have to order an adapter with it?  Or does the mini have a large out let already? So your current hose has an adapter to reduce it to the smaller hose?

jmb, it has a connector on the end that is at a right angle and yes the hole is bigger than the hose, im guessing the big hose goes straight into it with no adapter.

Thats what I am also guessing as I cant find an right angle adapter for a 36mm hose assuming thats the large hose your on about?  Thats y I was asking if it had a large out let but I didnt know if you was able to stick the hose directly into the vac cus im wondering y it was built so you had to have a angle adapter seems silly to me.

Yes, the larger hoses will go into the mini/midi

BUT

not with a systainer on top - there is no right-angle adaptor for the larger hoses, so while the hoses will fit they come out vertically, meaning you can't have anything on top.

ahh! thanks johnny, i regularly have at least 2 systainers locked to the top of my mini vac as a table if you like, well i was thinkin the bigger hose as i now have a kapex but not tried it yet, ill see how the 27mm hose goes.

Dan

I find the Kapex extraction works better with the 36mm hose.

I know you are a bit undecided on the Kapex at the moment and wouldn't want you to be pissed at the extraction not being what you expect when you should really use the 36mm hose. :-\

Dare I say it!  [poke] Guy Ashly is correct!  I also believe the extraction is better with the 36mm hose  this also applies with the OF2200  you can see the dust been thrown out by the router but if you move along steady you can see the dust gets pulled back into the router I dont get it with the 27mm hose as much.

im in the same situation as you dan,

have a mini on the kapex, i was thinking about upgrading to the larger hose, but yesterday noticed that ideally the kapex needs its own vac,

if the saw is set up away from where you are working or you are using another tool you have to keep switching hose/plugs

a good example, yesterday i was trimming upstairs in a house i had the saw set up in the living room with vac atatched, and upstaires i needed  the planer and sander.
i used the sander/planer with no vac [unsure]

i dont fancy buying a bigger hose then shortly after buy another vac,

how many of you use 2 vacs?

if i were to buy a new vac do you have the option for the bigger hose ie if i were to buy a ctl26 could i have the bigger hose instead at time of purchase as i understand the hose itself is quite expensive?...

Nope!  You can keep the hose in the sealed package and sell it thats what I did with my second vac CTL26

I know some American dealers like Bob Marino have no problem with that but in Europe I don't know, better ask your local dealer.

speed, i was thinking the same thing and originally thought i would sell my mini and put the money towards a ctl26, its probably worth keeping the mini for your hand tools and get something else for the saw, i think would be great on longer jobs but im rarely on jobs over a week and the thought of carrying 2 vacs around isnt too appealing....decisions.decisions.....

I dont like transporting 2 Vacs  nor do I like using 1Vac!    lol  My van is only racked out for 1 vac.    If I take another one it gets in my way!    So like you said I hate having the Vac setup on the Kapex and then needed it on another tool which is not next to the kapex.  So I cut my losses often and decide the kapex causes less mess than a planer or TS so I just use my vac for them and not the kapex.

Have found myself down that route, tend to leave the CT26 rigged up to the Kapex and use the Midi for all others.

It's no real trauma, neither will weigh as much as Kregs fully loaded Occi Bag!! [tongue]

The CT26 does come with the 27mm as standard, I doubt you will get an internet dealer that would swap it but a local dealer might.

I kept my 27mm as the one on my Midi was split.

Dan ,

If your dealer is any good he will swap the the hose.

In my experience you are better sticking to one dealer and build a relationship. Then things like this are no problem and you get better discounts on consumables ans extras and get good deals on demo machines as well.

Just find yourself a good dealer. some dealers are a lot better than others.

hmmm i think ill plug the tools into my 110v 4 way then plug that into the vac so i just have to change the hose, that outlet on the front of the mini cant stand up to the constant changing of the 110v plug mines cracked, wish they werent so tight (110v sockets).
