Wood movement and pin nailers

Curious what people's thoughts are on bringing in a very fine seam (paper width) on a small loose tenon breadboard end? Would a single 23 gauge pin allow for enough movement of the breadboard ends?

A pin installed by a pin nailer is not that much different than the diameter of a common staple leg.  If you want it to move it will.  If you are looking for re-enforcement it won't.
