Woodsmith Video on Homemade Vises that Should Work Great on an MFT Top

Not sure these fellows ever do any work.  Shop is squeaky clean and all they do is talk, never show what they are doing.

Or . . .  something more simple for when it's needed.  I made this jig for attaching a vice i inherited from my father-in-law years ago.

It's simple,  some scrap plywood, a couple of T-bolts,  and some long dogs or clamps attache it to the bench.

This meets my needs when I need to use a vice.

This could also be the base you need to attach the Woodsmith 360 mount to an MFT.

That and how often is it you need to use a metal vise like that when it's not going to involve banging the heck out of something?  Sure, it's a clever idea but I don't see transferring that much abuse through to my MFT as worth the "convenience".

True. this is for the odd cut offs that a vice is good for, and light weight table can handle.  For those forging swings, I use a different table set up to accept the 20mm holes and a rail to lock it down so it is ready for those big wacks!
