So, it's the half term holiday here in England and as a teacher I get the dubious pleasure of entertaining the kids. Yesterday's project was to replace my little girl's art supply box, with her help.

This is the old, 'this needs fixing please, daddy' version

Measuring up and laying out

Cutting the curves with the trusty Trion. How I love this jigsaw.  The TS55 is next.

Checking for sizes...at this stage Evie, my daughter, proclaimed with delight 'It'll never fit, you're bad at this.'  RUDE. I blame the parents.

About to route the dados for the drawers to run in

Checking the dados do their, erm, dadoing nicely...the drawers float slightly above the shelves so this was important

Finished job

Not the most ambitious of projects I know, but we had fun making it and it kept her from going out to meet boys for another day, so it's a result all round.

Cheers,
Rick

Nice job!  Does she think you're "good at this" now?  [blink]  [big grin]  [big grin]

Ha! No, not especially.  Women...you can't live with 'em...

Rick,

As usual, nice job.  I know that the most satisfying things I have done have been for my Grandkids.  They seem to overlook my screwups and just appreciate the effort.

Ben, my Grandson, told me a few months ago, "I sure am glad my Papa's a woodworker."  The comment was most appreciated but I think he needs to look up "woodworker" in the dictionary for a proper definition.

Haha, I don't think it's necessary to shatter his illusions just yet, is it? Anyway, I'm sure his Papa really IS a woodworker.
