No matter how many times I've clicked the unsubscribe link (and how many years I haven't been a subscriber!), the survey email still comes to me periodically.

Or, how many times they tell you this:

Ya Chuck that's a really weird thing...I get these things all the time and when I click on the unsubscribe option, if it automatically fills in my email address then I hit send. If it asks me to enter my email address then I do not send it. My thinking is if they already know my email address why do I have to enter it?  I'm thinking they're looking for a confirmed email address list that they can then sell which just makes the situation worse.

My other knee-jerk reaction is that through the magic of technology, they're capable of sending me emails within seconds, yet when I unsubscribe, that takes 4-7 days to complete that task [eek].  Don't get me started but it's synonymous with the what's happening at the gas pumps.

If you use gmail open the email and at the left had side of the row of icons above the email text the is a button to mark it spam and unsubscribe at the same time. I had one the other day that did not have an unsubscribe option at all so that is the treatment it got.

No company ever lets go of a person, once they get your info. They keep trying to draw you back in.
I have the same issue with General Motors. I bought a Camaro (new) in 2014, knowing full well that there was an ignition key recall. I even had to sign a waiver to drive it away. They didn't have an approved procedure or parts to fix it at that time. The later recall came when they figured it out. I don't want it done and I have told them in several ways, but they send me a recall notice post card every month...still. I threw them away initially, thinking it would stop. I saved a pretty big pile at one time

I get ads from a retailer in Ireland.  They don't even offer the unsubscribe option.

I once joined the high school class forum, and they also decline to actually unsubscribe me.  Also with that same 48 hours proviso.  My 50th high school reunion has passed.  I guess they are hoping I will attend the 75th reunion.  [eek]

Those are the worst (on the same level of those who offer you the unsubscribe option, but never act on it). I've come across only a very few since the digital age.

They cannot and will not stop the recall notices.
