Zobo hole cutters

Will festool usa in the near future start importing the zobo drilling systems. As they would be a great addition to the festool line.  As I would like to purchase the zobo hole cutting system.  Thank you Carl

drill bits and made by tooltechnic systems makers of festool.

I have a couple of the really large Protool Zobo cutters and I have to say they are excellent. They cut extremely accurate holes thanks to their centre point "pin". Unfortunately they are ridiculously expensive - even more so than "ordinary" Festool stuff. I would have to say they aren't worth recommending above any other good quality Forstner bits unless you desperately need to drill huge, very accurate holes, particularly when not perpendicular to the surface. The smaller sizes aren't worth the extra expense.

Thanks for the link. I like those bits.  I drill in finished cabinets all day, and am either dealing with lots of tear-out or quick dulling saw tooth blades.

Sorry I missed your question.

There are no plans to introduce Zobo to the US market anytime soon.

We did a market survey 3-4 years ago and decided based on the results not to import Zobo. With
the Euro/Dollar exchange rate, it would be even more difficult now, to introduce Zobo at an interesting
price level.

hafele are offering a set of 5 zobo cutters at an eye watering price of 126 pounds in england

even with a huge market with volume sales reducing the price for the north american market

its no wonder christian o cannot offer them at an interesting price

as for protool's, RHP 2 EQ (a lightweight 2kg corded sds drill, rotary action only)........................... 167 pounds, ouch

these are english prices including sales tax, as you know english / north american prices are VERY different
