It's a mid-grade tool as far as fit and finish. Several plastic parts. It would all depend on your use. If you want to use this everyday I would discourage. I would put you into the 12" versions which is a huge step up in quality. (Granted it's also up in price, but its a much better machine particularly in the helical version.

If you want to just take a little of of a board here or there, then it's in that range.
