Hi all,

I am wondering if I can find longer guide rods for OF1010.
To make dado, I'm using BridgeCity's Kerfmaker (http://www.bridgecitytools.com/default/featured/km-1-kerfmaker.html), which works wonderfully with OF1010 but the guide rod is a bit too short to conveniently use it. I don't see anything suitable from Festool parts. Not sure if there is anything I can use for the guide rods. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You might check a hardware store or metal supply for rod stock in the correct diameter.  Cut to the needed length and taper the ends on a bench grinder.  You should be good to go.  I would not want them too long, or they may become difficult to control; you would have to have someone guide the edge guide so you can keep both hands on the router.

Hi,

If you need longer rods - take a look at McMaster Carr P/N 1274T47, 8mm dia. 303 SS comes in 1ft, 1-1/2ft, and 3ft lengths.
