I'm sure it doesn't matter for thin edge banding but for thicker edge treatments wouldn't a spiral bit improve finish, reduce tool load (not that its a big deal here) and reduce the chance of blowout near the edges?
I've used this bit on a variety of thicknesses and types of materials without a any blow out, chipping or tearing. Probably close to 1500 lin ft. total so far. The type of bit you want to use is up to you but the recommended bit works great.
