Hi guys! Im sorry if this has come up before but I’ve sent several days combing the internet, phoned and emailed festool... that’s another story... and I can’t seem to get a STraight answer...
I’m a decorator, work on big new builds and historic restorations mainly, got myself a 110v dust extractor (ctm 26e) and now I’m struggling.... it has a a normal site 110v lead to plug into a tranny and on the unit itself a traditional house plug to attach your power tool...
the question is do I need a 110v power tool (sander in my case) to plug into it or will a normal 240 one work ok? What’s best what should I be using?
I’ve got a 240v 150/3  ets ec but too scared to plug it in in case I blow something up!
What confuses me is that apparently the socket can supply upto 2400w to the tool... but is that at 110 or 240? As mentioned before the plug on the extractor looks like a normal house plug...I’m no electrician!! Lol
And so if I do need a 110v tool, do the festool 110v tools come with a house plug on the end and not a round 3pin  site type? I did read u can plug a 240 into a 110 but it won’t run as quick like your hearing it down so this I assume would not do the tools internals any good?
Sorry if this does seem silly but I’m lost in it all now,
Many thanks BigRoller86

Hi there, not sure where you’re based but, I’m UK. We have Festool extractors in 240v in the workshop, and 110v for our site work.

Our 240v machines have a UK three pin 240v plug on the mains lead, and a 240v socket for the power take off.
Our 110v machines have the yellow 110v mains plug to go into the transformer, and a yellow 110v socket on the power take off.

Sounds like somebody has modified yours?
