I am posting these in case anybody is riding the Sortainer fence, these things are great!   I emptied 3 of those Stanley clear lids jobbies with the removable trays.  What I also like is the flexibility in trays being interchangable

I am working on 9 drawer set up for Consumables like drill bits, jig saw blades, staples, etc.

That looks great.  I did not have one of those on my list because I did not think the drawers would be big enough.  I guess I will be adding one now.

Thanks,
Don

You are having fun aren't you! I see you are getting rid of the biscuit joiner, you must have received your new Domino. I know the Domino was expensive, but there are things that biscuit joiner can do that the Domino can't. If you ever need a biscuit joiner I can borrow you mine.

Have fun with the new toys and I hope the family is well.

Hey, thanks for posting pictures; I never realised that the drawers could be sub-divided (doh!) and I was pretty sure that even 12 drawers wouldn't be enough, no matter how deep they were...

more expense...

Cheers, Pete

Another great feature with these Sortainers is the ability to easily remove a drawer (or two) and take to your project.

Next you will have to try the Sortainer with 4 drawers.  That big drawer is way useful!  It can hold several TS75 blades in their boxes and some TS55 on top too.  If you only need to house TS55 blades, you can divide the drawer with the blades on one side and splinter strips and guards on the other.  Two of the 118" splinter strips can fit in a medium size drawer and a coiled 55" one will go into a small drawer.  And that's just the saw accessories.  A C12 will fit nicely in the large drawer.  So does the floor sweep from the Work Shop Cleaning Set along with a bunch of other vacuum accessories.  The Toolie Tool fits in a small drawer and you can get several screwdrivers in a medium.  And the beat goes on...

You'll also like the Systainer Cart to roll all your Sortainers and/or Systainers around.  Yep, another path down the never ending slope...  I hate to admit this, but earlier tonight I was looking at two stacks of these Carts and, well, I had a thought...  I bet you could place a board across those two and have an instant bench.  No, that really wasn't my first thought, that would be similar, but the board would be wide enough to span three such stacks on carts, and with a 5 gallon bucket aboard the middle cart with a hole in the board above...  Well, maybe I should have kept that idea to myself.  But, for the man on the go, a little roll of TP in a large drawer works.

I do like the systainers, but I keep my consumables in a garage-sale fishing tackle box. Makes it a lot easier to take from job to job. I got the biggest one I could find (even came with an assortment of fishing gear). And the $2 was hard to beat.
I have to be careful as it tends to get on the heavy side when loaded with screws, but it beats driving to the store for the one size I could not find in my previous system.

Pete, I'd like to see a bigger version of your avatar, it's funny.  :)

Thanks. There's slightly a bigger copy of it here.

It's a Venetian doorbell/intercom/letterbox and I shot a whole series of them when I was in Venice last year, and again earlier this year, so I have plenty to choose from - though this one's my favourite :)

Thanks Nick, everyone is great.  Today was an absolutely beautiful day, the kids had enough of winter like two months ago!  So we were outside all day long, while I had the occasional sneak here and there to the Garage.  You probably had the same day.

I am eagerly waiting for that Domino.  I thought about keeping the Joiner, so far everything project that is was used for could of been dominoed.

Well of course. You will never need the biscuit joiner ever, until about a week after you sell it!

Thanks! Prety cute for utilitarian hardware. Stick-em-up on Flickr or someplace/thing.

i have quite a few of the systainer units.  the only problem is to not stuff them to full with screws etc.  as they tend to get stuck inside the drawer on the top side with all the grooves etc.  buy one and look up inside of a open drawer and you will see what I mean.

I was fighting one of those for two days and it drove me nuts. And that was brand new out of the box! It was the dividers in the drawer. If you do not overload they sure are nice.

I was going to buy one of each Sortainer a while back then decided I was crazy to spend that much money on those things. Didn't even dawn on me that the drawers were that deep. Doh!

Time to throw out all of those baby food jars!

Thanks so much for posting the pictures!

I am just not that neat enough person for that level of efficiency ;D

Per

Another kind of efficiency.

In high school I worked part time for a car mechanic. His operation was only a couple of notches up from a shade tree mechanic but he was talented and owned his own place. His system for organising small parts was to bundle them up in old towels or even blankets (without holes). To find a part he put the towel on the floor (near the garage door to get the sunlight) and spread the parts out with a quick swipe of a hand and scanned for the parts. Primitive as can be, but damned if he didn't find that weird little screw fast.
