Just picked up a pre airstream Carvex psc420eb brand new for a deal. Can the charger charge airstream batteries? The new Bluetooth batteries? This is my first cordless festool, besides the csx....  Would love to pick up an airstream Bluetooth battery for it before I get any other cordless tools.... But who am I kidding... I'll probably be buying a C18 soon.....

no you need an airstream charger. That said, the airstream charger can charge your older batteries.

I thought that the airstream charger enables you to get a faster charge. The normal charger should charge airstream batteries but only at the same rate as the older ones.

You can use the older charger, it will just take longer.

The tip to remember with all the Festool batteries is that they are specifically keyed. If they *fit* a charger or tool, then they can be used with it; maybe not in an optimum way (slower charging, less power etc.) but they will work.

This is good news. I'm prepared for slower charging until I get an airstream tool... But I'd like to get get the bt battery now to trigger dust extraction and have s second battery.... First job for Carvex, 10" circular hole in outside finished wall.....

Ive charged an airstream 6.2 Ah battery on my non airstream charger and itsnot caught fire yet, yay.
I plan on getting an airstream charger but the main point was that I have another battery that lasts longer with the possibility of bluetooth connection to my extractor.
