Hello all

Asking if the “new” Festool 18 volt batteries that have Bluetooth (e.g. BP 18 Li 5,0 ASI) will work on the older 15 volt tools such as the C15 drill driver.

In particular I am curious to know if there is any to have those older 15 volt tools can be made to trigger the new CT 36 EI AC HEPA via its built-in Bluetooth.

Thanks!

They are keyed to not even be able to mount to the tool.

Well, if you transplant the BMS and modify it down to 4S instead of 5S... I guess. Not really cost effective so I guess nobody is even going to try.

14/15V (4S Lithium) has been going the way of the Dodo for years. Almost all brands have standardized around small tools with 3S Lithium ("12V") and larger tools with 5S Lithium (18V).

If one has a C15 that works just fine and wants to trigger the BlueTooth module in a CT36, I would recommend the hose-mounted button. It will be much more reliable and useful in the long term than trying to modify an old 15V battery or mount an 18V battery. Cheaper, too.

Aye, the hose mounted button is generally quite handy anyway.
Nice to just start the vac when you pick the wand end up.
One of my better buys.
