My take is that Festool Germany takes an entirely different approach to what they bring to market than to survey the needs of tradesmen. Particularly the U.S. ones.
I'm pretty sure no one in a marketing survey ever said they needed or wanted a portable tenoning tool. Yet, Domino has been an unequivocal home run that has prompted a followup act - the 700series.
Perhaps a jobsite radio was mentioned, and delivered. But, it sorta pales in comparison as it doesn't act as a battery charger and is not digital like many of the competitors. The compact drill xs series was waaaaay late to the party and is pretty whimpy in performance and is not brushless. Superior ergonomics appeals to the faithful ; but isn't enough for , mass appeal when compared to the pioneering co.'s lineup breadth and battery tech.
It seems kind haphazard what and when they launch things , but they keep plodding along and we keep buying. So...............................................
