Greetings! I have for sale a custom combo kit of a 2" dual port Dust Deputy by Oneida coupled with a custom-modified Systainer 5 chip collector and case.

First, the Dust Deputy. This is NOT the standard Dust Deputy available from Oneida, which has a 2" outlet to the vac, and a 1.5" cuff to the tool. Rather, this is their commercial or industrial grade version, featuring dual 2" outlets. Not only do you get improved airflow and performance, but the 2" cuffs increase ease of use, since you don't have to mess around with a bunch of reducers. Simply slide the black cuffs over the gray cuffs, and you're ready to directly connect to the vac-end of all Festool (or other standard sized) hoses, including D27, D36, and either end of the D50 hose. There is an additional cost associated with this heavier-duty Dust Deputy, I paid over $200. Oneida also provided a rubber gasket to ensure a good seal.

Second, the custom modified Systainer 5. This is a Systainer 5, with a custom-fit plywood chip collector box, foam lit insert, and a collar with threaded inserts for the mounting screws. The plywood chip collection box is constructed of ?? plywood, glued and pocket-screwed together. It has a removable handle that rests on top of cleats when the unit is in use, and fits into channels when it is needed to lift the bin out of the Systainer. The foam lid insert (Thanks Timmy C!!!) is adhered via silicone to the lid of the systainer, providing an airtight seal to the plywood box when the lid is fastened shut. The collar is constructed of ?? plywood, and has 5 threaded inserts for ?? diameter machine screws, which thread from underneath the lid. I did this so that the screws could be removed, leaving the top flat so another systainer could be latched on top.

So, how do you use it? First, you open the lid, and remove the Dust Deputy and the rest of the parts. Next, you take your machine screws and thread them up into position from below.

Next, fasten the lid shut, and place the rubber gasket over the screws. Now, place the Dust Deputy over the screws. Once the Dust Deputy is in place, use supplied wing-nuts to secure it to the screws. Once all is in place, put black plastic sleeves on Dust Deputy, secure the entire assembly to the top of your CT, and away you go!

So?. The Dust Deputy cost me over $200, the Systainer 5 goes for around $72, a few dollars in parts (screws, wing nuts, plywood, etc..), and a few hours of my time. And for what? I can?t seem to find a time to use the darn thing!! I just don?t make enough dust to justify my investment. Most of my work is on-site, ease this edge here, route a flute there, make a few rips in another spot, but no real massive dust-producing endeavors. Those are typically performed at the company shop, where we have a 10? tall cyclone. BUT, I imagine there are more than a few fellas here who produce more sawdust than I, so I wanted to offer my setup for sale so I can free up some capital for more tool purchases. Between the materials and my labor, I am asking $300 plus shipping. If you?re interested or have any questions, feel free to respond here, PM me, or I can provide you with my phone number.

Thanks for looking!!

Tom

Have you tested this thing with a planer and a Festool Vac?

I've used cyclone setups with a shop-vacs but I don't
know if Festool has as much suction.

A shop-vac 970-02, Stainless Steel Heavy-Duty pulls 105 CFM.

A Festool CT 22 or CT 33 pulls 134 CFM.

If the 2" is better than the 1.5", why do they have the 1.5"?  They can't cost any different to make.

I have the standard and am happy with it, but always though having two diameters was queer.

Hi there Toller! I too don't really understand reducing the tool-side to 1.5" on their standard size. I paid more for the 2" port figuring I'd get less restriction. Anyways, I just don't really use it on-site as much as I thought I would, so I wanted to make it available to the rest of you folks so it'll find a happier home than a corner of my living room  ;) Is anybody at all interested? I'll consider offers......
