Quick version. Help was flat cutting a 25 degree on some t style white oak handrail. Destroyed brand new saw. Maybe destroyed is dramatic from what I gather the saw parts I can tell need replaced are only about 200. My fear is any internal damage. And I refuse to spin it.

I heard him launch drop on his second cut and figured he was just in a hurry. Two seconds later he sent a half inch chunk through the pistol grip plastics and the dust collection port.

20 or so cuts max on the saw and it was only an hr or so into work after getting it dialed in on the cuthub.

Any ideas?

My thought is he tried to flat cut that standing up and when he went to take his line there was literally nothing against the fence on the drop side. Can’t confirm or deny.

Luckily woodcraft of Loveland has a new one headed in for me and I can swap under 30 day. Unluckily that’s a 4hr drive one way.

Solid thanks. I wanted to make some zero c fences. But never have the time to set up at home and build nice ones. Etsy has em I’m sure
As a finish carpenter I have used these without any negative effect. Cheap enough so that you can swap after cutting a bevel laying flat and then wanting to go vertical. https://www.fastcap.com/product/zero-clearance-tape. For zero clearance at the rear I save scraps of 4" plywood (1/4" thick) and use double sided tape (thin). If you want to make the zero clearance fence that matches the saw, I believe the plans are in the Supplemental Manual (attached).
