Hello all,

on page 157 of the new catalog, it appears to show that the RAS has a plug it power cord under the specifications table.  Is this a typo or is it true?  Any dealers out there have a new one in stock with the t-lock/plug-it?

Thanks

If it's just in the table, then I'd guess it's a typo. If it's shown in the pictures as well, then that's another matter...

The photo of the RAS 115, on page 148, does not look like a plug-it???

Sorry, I meant to confirm and then get back on this topic. It was a print error. There are no intentions to migrate the RAS to Plug-It.

Will the rest of the tools generally be migrated to plug-it cords as they are updated with newer models?

For example, if a new RAS 115 V2 or whatever came out, wouldn't it be likely to be switched?

As crazy as it sounds Shane isn't kept abreast on the design of new tools nor do they ask for his input.  Like I said, it's crazy, after all, don't they he's the computer geek at Festool USA?? [big grin]  All joking aside, pretty much every new tool has the plug-it unless there is a reason it shouldn't.  I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a new RAS though.

All new hand tools for the last 3 or 4 years came with the plug it cord.

But a tool only gets updated if they really feel the need for it. Don't hold your breath for an update on the RAS. The design is like 12 or more years old already and they never felt the need to update it.

I know the RAS historically hasn't been the top seller, but now that interest has been good, I hope they redesign it with Plug-It.  If I'm going to use / buy it, one of the benefits over using an angle grinder is the rotating dust shield and dust collection.  And that means, I'll have a CT nearby with a hose and plug-it.
