Way back when the FOGtainers were in the design phase, a member here suggested that we think about doing a FOG calendar.

So, NOW IS THE TIME!

We are looking for images (13 to be exact) that showcase the spirit of the FOG and the talents of the members here to be featured in a FOG calendar for 2013.  And you will be the ones to select the images.

The calendar will be available as a digital download to all members free of charge, but if you would like to have it pre-printed you will be available to purchase one that will be a print on demand copy.  Members, no matter where you are, will be able to get a copy.

The images will be the same for all the versions, but the various holidays for the US, UK, CA, DE, will vary based on the versions.  We will be working out all the details, but in the mean time you guys and gals need to get busy looking for your favorites.

The Rules - Once the Project Kicks Off

1.  Each member may nominate / post not more than 5 images of their own or images previously posted on the FOG for consideration IN A FUTURE DESIGNATED THREAD.  If the image belongs to another member, the original posting member has the right to take his image out of consideration.  If that happens, the member who nominated the image may nominate another.
At the beginning of that thread will be the exact instructions on how to submit images.  Shane and I will work out the details in an effort to make it as easy as we can for all of you to be able to submit and view the submissions.

2.  Images ultimately nominated should be of a quality that could be used to produce a high quality print at a size of 8.5 “ x 11”.  Images taken by cell phones should be considered in advance as being poor candidates.  Assistance in modifying images to increase the quality, enhance details, improve color balance, etc. will be available here - details to follow - but there is a realistic limit to that assistance and if the image, modified or not, would not be usable and clear for print publication, then it will be rejected.  If that happens, the same rules as in #1 above pertain. (In plain English - please nominate clear, decent images that don’t need a bunch of doctoring.)
Moderators and Administrators of the forum may not submit their own images or those of others, but if others nominate an image of theirs than that image may be considered for inclusion in those to be in the group to be voted upon for inclusion in the calendar.  We will supply a minimum (775 x 1000) and maximum resolution for the submissions that will be handled thru email.

3.  Images may be digitally enhanced to eliminate short-comings in the images but they should not be be enhanced to be be unrealistic or be a combination of two or more original images.

4.  This project - it is not a contest - is not designed to publicize professionals’ companies although professionals’ work is eligible.  Images that have watermarks or clearly defined or depicted identification of the individual, professional or not, shall be rejected from images to be considered.  Please don’t superimpose your logo, phone number, email, etc. in your images or take a picture of your project with your van or truck or business card visible.  Let’s make this a quality product.

5.  Once the nomination period is over and the nominated works that meet the criteria have been determined by those yet to be decided, then we will put together a separate thread that will allow members to vote on their favorites to be be included.  Members who have an image in consideration (submitted) will be required to allow[ their images to be used in this project and also to be used by the owner of the forum and other affiliated companies and entities on the internet and in social media postings.   Once the 13 are chosen, the members of the FOG will be allowed to vote for the cover image.  The remaining images will be arranged into the calendar without member participation.  The decisions on the arrangements are final.  In the event that there are less than 13 images available for consideration, the project may be cancelled or extended.
If an image has been included in a social media posting, that image shall not be deleted.  (Plain English - If the project doesn't go forward due to lack of participation and there have been inclusions of images in other places on the internet or here, they are going to stay there.  That might mean for example, Twitter, Facebook, a Festool Blog, a newsletter, etc. ) Moderators, Administrators, and Festool employees are not allowed to vote for the images to be included nor the cover image.

6.  The 13 members whose images are selected will receive as a thank you a printed copy of the calendar if desired.  There will be no cost to those other than any applicable duties or customs charges imposed by their country of residence.  (Plain English again - We will send a copy as a thank you and will cover postage.)

So if you are a member who wants to participate in this project, now is your chance.  Start looking thru your images, start looking at past threads, and start getting ready.  Don't worry about the back end stuff and please do not submit anything at this time.  If you have any questions, thoughts, comments, please feel free to post them here, but in advance, get ready to have fun!  Let’s find the best images of Foggers and the FOG and let's start looking forward to a fabulous 2013!

Stay tuned for the official start and feel free to post and banter here in the mean time.

Rock on Foggers!

Peter

thats great peter.
are you looking for cool  or amusing pics OF festools or the work that they did

Sorry Guys,

I actually thought I posted a response earlier but this afternoon every time I tried to post in a thread I got a message, looked at that and then lost my post.

What I didn't mention that once this is posted for print on demand anyone in the world can get one.  Members or not.  So, strut you stuff, walk the walk, do the proof is in the bread pudding type of thing and wow the world.

Peter

OOPS!  I forgot to mention that this project is open to everyone including our dear members in Quebec.  It is a project.

Shucks,
I thought this was going to be pics of hot looking festool owners showing off their abs.  I guess I'll just have to wait for next year's calendar to enter.  [embarassed]

Send the Gorilla Gripper girl a CXS.  That's my vote for all 13 months.  [embarassed]

LOL!  Somehow I think that the Gripper Girl would be a popular choice with the Guys here, but NO!  Not even if she had a Festool tattoo.

Call me a spoil sport.  You won't hurt my feelings.

Peter

I think everyone would agree that there's been a very cool mini landrover project gracing our pages - love to see that in there  [wink]
