20mm sander outlet to 27mm Festool hose.

I have been using tape to connect a Makita 1/2 sheet sander to a 27mm Festool extractor vac hose.
Hardly a quick and easy fix.
Does anyone know of a 20mm to 27 mm adaptor?

The port on the blocks are 21mm or so and they come with an adapter to use the 27mm hose or you can buy the smaller anti static hose. That might get you closer to just wrap some tape around the port to make it work. ???

Festool makes a smaller 22 mm hose, I've never seen it myself, but perhaps you can use it's nozzle as an adapter. I'm not sure though, you'd have to contact a dealer and see for yourself.

Cut off the smallest end, leaving a bit of a ridge from the next larger size. Slip it on the Makita with the flange end against the tool. The Festool hose end will slide on the assembly.

This type of question is exactly why I am probably going to purchase a 3D printer.  That way, when I need an adapter, or other plastic part that I can't find, I'll just print one!

I think the tool fitting is the same size as the 27mm hose.

There is no fitting on the tool end of that hose, just the raw end of the hose that slides over the fitting on the hand sanding blocks.

You should also be able to find a piece of flexible tubing that has a OD of 27mm and an ID of 20mm.

The biggest problem would probably be finding someplace where you can get a short piece.

The 22mm Anti-static hose has a D27 fitting on the tool end and does not come with any adapter.

The 22mm (21.5mm) Non-anti static hose does not come with any tool end connector.

The sanding blocks come with the connector for the 22mm size and an adapter to go from the D27 connector to the 22mm port.

Vac adaptor similar to Amazon available in Oz, I found today on-line at -

for $A11.00.

I have Festool block sander but not here at moment, so have purchased some tube today and will try out in morning. Should work out OK in short term. Certainly an improvement on tape!!
