about christmas time, i bought a 2200 router, and have had the opportunity to
only use it a handful of times so far......

i'm getting quite a lot of arcing out the vent slots, seems to be proportional to the
load on the motor.... i'm just thinking that the brushes aren't seated fully yet, as
there was a similar thread on here regarding the 1400 router.

anyone had any problems similar to this?

and if it's just a break in and seating issue, how much time should it take
to seat them? sparking was enough to be disconcerting, and i'm an
electrician by trade, so i have some experience with arcing and sparking.....  [blink]

How long in total time (on) have you used it?  Routers tend to be in some instances a short on - long off tool.

If it were mine, I wouldn't be concerned unless it was making strange noises.  Brushes on Festool items that have brushes take a while to break in.
