23 gauge nailer. Bostitch or Makita?

Here's another vote for the Grex P650!  It is an awesome nailer, and has surprisingly good holding power!

anyone know if Omer makes a 16 gauge gun.  I looked all over but cant come across one.  If not can someone recomend some the best, I know Max makes a decent one but am looking for some options. Thanks!

Amazon sells the Omer 2-inch pin nailer.  It is actually sold by Woodworker Specialties:

Here is the English language page on the Omer website for the pin nailers.  They seem to have 7 models, some of which also shoot 23 gauge brads:

They also make brad and nail guns.  The only experience I have with Omer tools is that I've used their pin nailers in other people's shops and in veneering and marquetry classes.  I own a much less expensive and exotic PC PIN 100.

Doing further web searches, the Brits (Spotnails Ltd. Unit 21, Pantglas Industrial Estate, Bedwas, Caerphilly CF83 8DR) seem to sell Omer products, including a 16 gauge brad nailer called the  Omer  14.50 Bradder which sells for GBP 250.:

Spotnails Ltd. in the UK also sells a selection of Omer "pinners".  So Omer seems to be a wide range manufacturer of nail guns, although I have no idea if they are sold, serviced and respected in North America.

Here is a vote for the Cadex 23 ga pin nailer.  The main advantage is that it shoots slight-headed fasteners as well as regular pins.  I would get the one that shoots 3/8 inch fasteners.  There is much more use for 3/8 fasteners/pins than for 2 inch pins.  With the 2 inch pinner the shortest pin is 5/8 inch and sometimes that is too long.

It is available from Floyd Tool.

Thanks Tim

I cant source the Grex or Cadex over here but I have found a Senco 23 g pin gun for £142  [eek] [eek]

I do a lot of 10/12mm (oops 1/2") trim with oak, cherry and recently black walnut so as you put it "umpphhhh" is a must have.

Any of you guys used the Senco?

You seriously trust 23g nails with material that thick?

Or am I missing something and you are just using them to hold in place while glue dries...?

Err, yeah! While the glue dries.

Saves buying 30 or 40 edging clamps and the hole wont be as visible as an 18g brad.

Ok, that makes more sense then.

Somehow I only thought of that while I was typing up the other message...

YOu would be surprised at how well just 23ga pins hold.

It is quite difficult getting something apart that has 2" pins in it or where you stitch some shorter one's.

I trust those little pins to hold stuff. Held my finger really well to the board when the pin drifted off coarse!  [eek]
