36 Auto Clean questions

So I was sold a 36 AC from a Featool dealer, my question is, I'll be using mostly sanders and doing Lead RRP work, can I use a HEPA filter in the 36 AC ? And should I turn OFF the Auto clean if I am doing Lead work? Obviously I bought the vacuum to upgrade with a Planex later but I wanted to get the best vacuum and hope that I made the right purchase instead of just getting a non-auto clean 36 or 48. Thanks!

I'll let someone from Festool give an official answer.  Until then  here's my two cents.  Sure you can add a hepa filter, self cleaning bag, and turn off the AC function, and it will function pretty like the other Festool vacs-but I'm pretty sure the 36AC doesn't technically qualify as a RRP suitable vac.  One of Festool's certified hepa vacs is the correct choice, technically speaking.

. I think Brice nailed it.

Just to add...

In addition to what Brice said, the AutoClean is not recommended by Festool for RRP. The main reason is that if you accidentally enable the AutoClean feature with a HEPA filter installed, it can damage and compromise the filter yielding it no longer HEPA certified. If you're doing RRP, steer clear of the CT 36 AutoClean and get any of the other units which are certified for RRP work.

Thank you all very much, I will be returning my vac Monday and getting an RRP certified vac, like I should have to begin with! Y'all are awesome!
