Plus if you haven’t dealt with these folks before Taylor Toolworks, take a look around their site. Good products decent prices and fast shipping. They are in Columbia Missouri. I’ve been using them for Famag bits. I think [member=58857]Crazyraceguy[/member] has mentioned them as well.

Ron [member=3192]rvieceli[/member] that link doesn't seem to work...it gives me a Page Not Found.  [sad]

Now that's better... [thumbs up]

I got the email today and noticed the "Sale ends 9/18/24” qualifier, thinking that was a long sale. Seems more like a new price level?

Side comment, Taylor is becoming one of my favorite sources. I just noticed they have a large assortment of Shinwa metric rules, including a 1 meter option. Big fan of these rules, quality is really high.

Also a good source for double sided tape for use with Origin or router templates, they obscure the brand but what I've received from them is Interstate, 1st quality.

Yes, I have mentioned them at least once. I got my last set of dial calipers from them. I just don't like the digital ones. The switching for metric to decimal inch is nice, but they all eat batteries like candy.
I'll stick with my old-school dial type and be fine with it.

That's exactly why this situation exists in my shop...4 dial calipers and a single digital caliper. The dial calipers are used 98% of the time while the digital is used in those situations where measuring something "hidden" would be impossible with the dial caliper.

From top to bottom...imperial/Germany...imperial & metric/Germany...metric/Switzerland...imperial/Switzerland...the other 2% use case/Switzerland.

Is there a special backing pad required to use Cubitron on an ETS-EC 125/150?

Cubitron paper/film...no.
Cubitron mesh...yes.

Richard, 3M has recently (November) released Cubitron 3 vs the older Cubitron II discs and belts for metal working applications. They've also, across the board, substituted the older Cubitron II discs for the Cubitron 3 discs at the same price point. I'm wondering if this isn't just an upgrade for the woodworking community and thus the reduction in price to move current stock?
It could be a "bringing in the new" while "liquidating the old" moment.  [smile]

Yep, that 'splains it. I was unaware of the v3 release.

Dang it tho, now I "need" some of the new stuff, can't be muddling by with old tech. What would the neighbors think?

Battery drain is usually byproduct of chinese copies.  I have original mitotoyu and i'm still on original battery set from 2-3 years ago when i bought them.

That same disc assortment in quantity of 15 discs is available at the jungle river site for $8.38 or about 16% lower.

I get about 4-5  years of battery life with the Brown & Sharpe digital caliper but that may be because I don't use it that often.  [tongue]

[member=60975]kevinculle[/member] the part number that Amazon lists is for a pack 5 each 240- 320 - 400

But the pics have a lower grit assortment. So who knows.

My guess is the pack I have indicated.

Not for the 775.  It's a tad thinner than granat, but no velcro is poking through.  Although I might still get a saver for the 125 for cooling.  I've used it more with my Bosch than the EC150 and without pad and it's survived fine.

I’m still on the original batteries on my Mitutoyo digital caliper. The Mitutoyos are probably one of the most counterfeited items out there though.

If you purchase try to use an authorized dealer. I got mine from ZORO. there are usually 20% off coupons that work floating around.

I rarely use 320 and 400. If this assortment had the lower grits then it's even better value for my use.

FWIW...you need to look for the 775L Multi Pack in red (#87338), that has 3 each of the 5 larger grit sizes.

The #87435 775L Multi Pack was kind of an odd duck in that it offered up 240 grit discs that aren't much different than 320 grit discs. It would have been nice if that package offered 220-320 & 400 grit discs.
