3M™ 30 Pack 775L Cubitron II ™ Hookit™ Sale

After looking further on the Taylor tools site, I think that what you will receive if ordering is 2 - 15 sheet packs. a pack of 3 each of the lower grits (87338) and a pack of 5 each of the higher grits (87435).

Here's the sku on the Taylor tools site.

The #87435 775L Multi Pack was kind of an odd duck in that it offered up 240 grit discs that aren't much different than 320 grit discs. It would have been nice if that package offered 220-320 & 400 grit discs.

Yeah, I'm surprised that many woodworkers don't know the rule of thumb for "skipping grits," which is that you shouldn't go more than 50% of the previous grit.

For instance, 100 grit, then 150, then 220 (they don't make 225), and then 320 (they don't make 330). If you do that, you don't need the 120 or 180 grits. Alternatively, you can do 80, 120, 180, and then 240 since they don't make 270 (ok to skip 100 and 150). At the higher grits you can get away with "skipping" if the paper is good and you sand long enough and the material is suitable (eg, not pine). Sedge does this skipping when polishing finishes/car headlights, going from 1000 to 5000. I think most shops should think about whether they're on the 80-120-180-240-400 train or the 100-150-220-320 train. No use in having all the different grits, and I wish I knew this when I started buying paper decades ago.

But, maybe someone here has an example of where that's useful?
