Shane, is the plan to send these out for an August 1 delivery or will they start shipping on August 1?  Going to sell my miter saw and wondering when I should get rid of it since I plan on taking advantage of this deal. Thanks!

[member=1520]NVA_WW[/member], Festool does this with all promos and new products - we cannot ship until the official "launch date". So, we would begin shipping on 8/1.

Awesome, thank you!  I’ll be preordering soon.

[member=1520]NVA_WW[/member] I would highly recommend that anyone planning to take advantage of this promo act now. Festool has already indicated that the metric version is sold out and there will be no more inventory available to dealers at the promo price.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] perfect, I just preordered the imperial model which is the one I wanted.  Thanks for the heads up.

What is the latest on this? I have had an order for 3 months now and nothing.

[member=62408]mattbar1[/member] we are getting ready to send an update to our customers. We just received a notification from Festool USA that shipment has been delayed again unfortunately. The new ETA is mid-September.

From Festool USA:
Due to global supply chain interruptions of internal components, we are now forecasting the Kapex Set Campaign will likely start in mid-September. While we understand that this delay may be frustrating, our commitment to quality products starts with quality components and that is something on which we are not willing to compromise. We thank you for your patience & your business as we work through this delay, and please know that we are doing everything we can to deliver this well-received promotion as soon as possible.

Thanks Shane. How is this possible if all the parts are available outside the combo? Why are those ok to sell but not these?

[member=62408]mattbar1[/member] That would be a question you would have to ask of Festool USA.

Everyone following this thread must be (should be?) shaking their heads.

"...forecasting...will likely ...." Is that a weather forecast script?

With the Kapex combo shipping date slipping, what are the odds the STM1800 will also be delayed?  I’m fine with the delay [crying]

If they do this time I’m sending them an email about it. Seems absurd since mine is sitting at my local woodcraft since the beginning of all of this...

I am glad I went ahead and got the Kapex without the stand deal,
Although a good deal, the down time for me didn’t work.

I have already completed one big trim out job, and have another on the books. I would have been happy to save the money ,but I’m happy to be working the saw already.
Btw , I still haven’t got the stand and wings yet.

Great saw

I find it both amusing and disconcerting that they wait until after July 1 to announce yet another delay.  So now, if you want to buy what is sitting on shelves you get to pay the price increase.  Smoke and mirrors.  There’s no way they didn’t know about this until now.

Shame on you Festool.

Andy

I have figured it out!

Festool is getting into the computer software industry!

Kapex + UG Stand Combo Deal = VAPORWARE

I personally have sympathy for anyone employed in a supply chain management position during this pandemic and uncertain times.

While I agree that manufacturing is hard pressed. What I don’t understand is that they were able to get the new cordless drills to market while they want to keep delaying the Kapex deal. While they are probably on different manufacturing lines and the Kapex is more complex to make, I still don’t accept that they can’t keep up given the fact that you can still order the set separately at dealers with little to no wait time. In my opinion there is no excuse to not have enough supply given a 4 month delay from the original April 1st date.

Sorry for the rant, just not happy if they delay it again...

I have had no manufacturing experience, but under my belt were years of project management in complex undertakings (some life-and-death). Let's look at the timeline of this:

Original promise: April 1
Pandemic that started to have an impact: March (mid, late?)

Anyone properly managing a project that was to be delivered in April to a client would schedule it to be ready by mid to late Feb., depending on the nature of the project (January if I were the project director).

Project delays or over budgets happen everyday and everywhere. The onus is on the project manager to explain to the stakeholders what steps are taken to remedy the situation to meet the revised deadline (first Aug. and now Sept. (may be)).

As others have wondered, Festool executives should step in and allow retailers to deliver their deals using their existing stock (based on the order the purchases were made) until all stock is gone. The rest will then wait when the plant catches up.

In my view, this isn't a matter of sympathy or not; it is a matter of how flexible the Festool executives are willing to handle the situation. Their inaction leaves the retailers bearing the blunt of criticisms.

If I was a U.S. customer wanting the Kapex back in February, I would not be happy at the number of times this can has been kicked down the road.  I wonder how many potential purchases were deferred in late February when the initial announcement of the offer was made and continue to be deferred. Has Festool created a variation of the Osborne Effect by announcing the sale and not meeting its own suspense?

[member=70363]MikeGE[/member] I think actions speak louder than words.  Isn’t this board supposedly monitored by Festool?

I think it is more likely that they simply do not care.

Andy

I agree [member=9489]ADKMedic[/member]. No communication from Festool or my Dealer. About a week before each promised ship date I call in to make sure that is still valid. Only then am I told about the change. Meanwhile, they have $2000 and I have nothing.
