Looking at th ro 125 and wondering if you can use the standard 5" sandpaper with it or does it need to be festool sandpaper?i

[size=11pt]

Due to availability in a rural area, I occasionally use Makita sandpaper as it has the same hole  pattern as the older Festool pads and still works with the newer multi-jetstream pad.

However you will find Festool papers generally more durable than most other brands and  down here at least not at a significant cost premium,

Festool paper has the holes on a different place as standard paper. So if you value the effectiveness of your dust collection, then you can only use Festool or Festool-compatible paper. If that's not a concern for you you can also use standard paper.

I use Mirka Abranet 5" discs all the time. No problem with dust as it's a mesh. Not bothered to check the prices, but I suspect it's a lot cheaper than Festool discs.
