5mm Euro screws

I see some cabinet builds where a 3/4" panel is a divider panel and has drawer slides on both sides of the panel.  Anyone know the proper length 5mm euro screw to get so they don't hit one another when screwing them in from both sides of the shared panel?  If so, where to purchase them?

There are 10.5mm as well.  An internet search for "5mm Euro screws" will get lots of sources. Also you will probably want a #2 Pozi screwdriver and driver bit if you don't already have them. Phillips will work but the Pozi is a better fit , of course.

McFeely's has screws out the gazoo.

I used the Rockler 10mm long Pozi screws, but it looks like they changed it to 11.5mm?  With the thickness of the slides, the 10mm worked fine for this purpose.  The 11.5mm must be designed for the same purpose, because they still sell the 13mm if you don't have slides on both sides of your panel.

Out of interest as a European, what do you call a "euro" screw?

These Euro screws here in NA  [tongue] They call them Euro because they come from across the pound and no one in NA can claim a patent  [scared]

Available at L.V. in 10mm 11.5mm & 13mm

With 3/4" panel use the 10mm back to back. With the slides the screws are going ~8mm in the panel.

Right, thanks. I guess we would just call those pozi-head screws, 5mm x 10,5mm :)

I use them all the time for drawer runners and hinge back plates.......They have always been known in the trade as Euro Screws in the UK.
I wonder if we will still be able to buy them after the 29th March....? [big grin]

Finding the right length of 5mm Euro screws for your cabinet build can be a bit tricky. To ensure they don't hit each other when screwed in from both sides of the shared panel, you'll want to go for screws that are slightly shorter than the combined thickness of the two panels. This will allow for a secure fit without any collisions. When it comes to purchasing screws and fasteners for your projects, I've had great experiences with one store. They offer a wide range of high-quality products, including 5mm Euro screws, and their website is super convenient to navigate. You can check them out at https://www.scrooz.com.au/ for all your screwing needs.

Can it actually search out the forum, register for an account, find a thread and post a disguised advertisement/phishing by itself? If so, the internet as we come to know and "love" it is doomed.

Would Chicago screws work here?  Amazon sells an assortment in a compartmented plastic case.  These are also called “binder posts/binder screws”.

The issue with the button head binding screws will be drawer box side  clearance. The screws and barrels need to be flat head that recess into the  slide. The drawer boxes have very little clearance to the slide.

Part of me says that binding screws are also only called for if you know that your slides will always be at the same height between the boxes.  Otherwise, you're adding extra screws and still need a separate type of screw for the outside panel.

A fixed-length confirmat that doesn't interfere with a screw from the other side seems to be the most appropriate for universal application.
