90 Years - Festool!!

Sorry, Frank--I meant no real offense.  I don't run my comedic schtick by any focus group.  Perhaps I suffer from some kind of "forum tourette's".  Or perhaps I've been watching too many Bill Burr comedy specials.  Either way, I make fun of my own idiosyncrasies just as often.

I still hope you get your special edition CXS!

Should be Jimmy. I had an email from Festool with a link. I believe you need to log in to the site to see the competition

Let's stop right here, you stopped at Starbucks.  [eek]

I cannot understand the NA obsession with this brand of dishwater, or as we might also say 'Mutton dressed up as Lamb'.

Starbucks have failed big time in Australia, and we are a country with a big espresso based Coffee obsession. On average an Australian drinks 4 Cups of Expresso based Coffee per day.

Back to the topic - perhaps Festool could present every FOG member with a shirt celebrating 90 Years.  [smile]

It is. You need to log in to MyFestool and there's a link there. Click on the my90Years tab.

Well sure, that's perfectly understandable--How else would one wash down the taste of Vegemite on a crumpet?!?

But yeah, I do agree with you on this:  Festool should do a 90 year T-shirt for every FOG member.  Let's all put our culinary differences aside and unite behind this most excellent idea!

Isn't Vegemite ground up soy beans or something awful like that? Forgive my ignorance, my knowledge of Australia consists of watching Crocodile Dundee when I was a kid.

I'd love to get a CXS for my wife, but she'd probably freak if she saw it cost 2 1/2x as much as a Milwaukee. Maybe I could win one instead.

Oh, and I know I haven't spent thousands on green and gray stuff yet, but I'm always on the lookout for a free t-shirt. :-)

So I stop at the Starbucks on the way home this afternoon, and while I'm waiting in a long line for my frapuccino, I pull out my phone and start checking the FOG to pass the time.  I push randomly at the screen and next thing I know I'm laughing loud enough for everyone to turn around and look at me.  I had ended up on this thread reading Frank's apoplectic diatribe:  "I'm SERIOUS, you guys...Germany MUST account for itself... rant, rant...Warum willst du nicht die 90 Jahre CSX Bohren nach America zu bringen?".  I'm picturing him with fist up in the air going: "we will NOT be ignored--Ich bin ein Festooler!..."

Frank, I truly hope you win one of these limited edition gizmos.  Then on your next high school shop project where you list the tools you used, you can put:  CSX, limited edition, (did I mention it is SIGNED?); and of course it's NAAEIMS (Not Available Anywhere Except In My Shop)

What can I say...I find great humor in the manic obsession some exhibit about this brand.

MCDLR!!!!!

There seems to be an endless obsession to collect all the box tops without much clue as how to use them, eh?

You, sir, have won the internet today. Thanks for the laugh.

Had a Midi, Carvex 420 with the accessory set, BHC and cleaning kit for midi ordered last week, delivered on the wednesday;

Out of those systainers, the Carvex, Carvex set, and the Cleaning kit were all the 90 year specials, will be looking to get the PDC and OF1400 soon so hopefully i'll get the anniversary versions again ;)

Phil

the history part would have been more interesting if it wasn't so abbreviated.  for example, i'm always curious about how some of these now-iconic brands from that region fared through the war.

the "mellow yellow" machines from the 60s and 70s look kinda cool...

Me too, but I'm guessing that info wouldn't be forthcoming. I'm sure that the Festool factory, like almost every other one in wartime (both in Germany and here in the UK) would have been used to make arms or munitions of some kind.

Is the CXS survey drawing open only to UK folks?

Unfortunately it is UK only according to the T&Cs. I'm sure there will be in-country equivalents for other geographies.

Phil, when exactly did the 90 years systainers start going out. I have bought 8 systainers with tools or accessories since January with 5 of those being in March and none of mine had the 90 year logo?

Hi Ed
I think production started from May onwards and it is for only a 6 month period. The guide rails will also have the logo on.
Unfortunately we are not able to supply just the T-lok catch with the logo on [sad]

Thanks Phil, I am toying with getting an 1400/2 LR32 rail so might try to get one with the logo, not sure I can justify any more tool purchases at the moment  [sad]
