A better pegboard hook

Not really a tool but many folks hang tools from pegboard hooks. I got tired of the old problem of the hooks coming off the pegboard when removing an item and haven't been happy with the plastic clips you can get for the metal hooks so I went searching for a new solution and found Talon Hooks. I ordered some direct from the manufacturer and so far I've been quite pleased. They are plastic but plenty strong, stay put and reposition fairly easily after removing the screw that spreads the anchor wings in the back. Another review I read suggested replacing the plastic screws with metal ones and I completely agree. So a box of 6-32 x 3/4" machine screws took care of that. I thought Festool folks who are used to paying a premium for good products might appreciate knowing about this option for pegboard hooks, not inexpensive but they work better than other hooks I've tried. Curious what other solutions folks have used? I've got plenty of pegboard to try some other things as well.

it looks a better solution than the normal ones.
one thing i dont understand about that design is that the pin goes iunto the bottom hole and down. surly a better design would be go in the top hole and up . that way the weight on the hook  holds it there rather than pulling it out
then the screw would be only holding the hook from lifting as you remove something

I was reading the original post and was thinking that it was an upside-down design.  Nice to know that I'm not the only one to see it.

I thought the same thing but decided to try it anyway. It finally hit me that if the anchor screw was on the bottom the hook would be in the way of the screw unless the base plate was taller to span 3 holes instead of 2. But it works fine as is, when the anchor screw is in these are not coming out.

I've been using these hooks (at least 100 of them) ever since I built my woodworking shed nine years ago and I can well you that they (mostly) stand up well to use and abuse.

i do hate the other type. i often see them in shops and usually know half the stuff around what i want trying to get it off the hook

The talon hooks are OK.  I have several dozen of them.  Biggest complaint is the shape of the hooks.  The weird shape of the hooks makes it hard to hang some stuff from them.  Also, the necessity of actual 1/4" pegboard, which has been somewhat difficult to find in the past and significantly more expensive.  I finished the entire inside of my dust collector closet  and a wall of the storage area around my basement stairs with the cheap borg stuff so they don't work as well in there.  They do work well in the one area I have 1/4" pegboard.  That is an area in the garage where I hang my painting stuff.  Paint brushes and rollers work better on the metal hooks, which BTW work way better with actual 1/4" pegboard also.  Go figure.

Jay, I agree that the shapes may seem a little weird, but I always seem to find a shape that works.  Here is a photo of a portion of the long run of  pegboard in my woodworking shed showing a great variety of tools hung with talon hooks:

Unlike you, Jay, I'm glad that the hooks require the 1/4 inch pegboard because I find the 1/4 pegboard to be of superior quality -sure it costs a little bit more but it should.
