A Dining room with a little bit of trim

Started another house about 4 weeks back. The owner kinda gave me free reign of this one. I told him the general idea and showed him some designs. Here it is we still have to panel the ceiling. Awaiting the decision on the movement of recessed lighting.

Site fluting of structural mulls. Wainscot panels are 1x4 pocketed together with applied panel molding. Cove/box/crown for cornice. Casing legs are 2 piece 5/4 we beaded the edges and applied the fluted trim. Base is 1x8 with ogee cap.

Very nice. I am going to have borrow (steal) that window treatment. I haven't really seen that style before, but it makes the room very grand. Could be very useful in the appropriate setting.

Knock yourself out. If you would like any details let me know.  The primer for the look was predicted because of the height of the sill. I hate the look of panels that are at different heights or dog legged.

Nobody gives any thought to the end product anymore. The architect is not compensated to work out the details. The framer could care less. The builder is like we will figure it out later. Tail is wagging the dog. Sorry for the rant.
