A hearty Thank You to Festool for the Battery price REDUCTION!

Do folks here have experience with the Makita and would I as well to just keep moving ahead with the Makita purchase considering that I really prefer in this case to just come out of it with a really good impact driver as oppose to a combination tool. If I have described anything wrong in this post, I apologize for that. A mind boggling array of drill and driver combinations out there from all the suppliers and my head is spinning a little.

The Ti15 is a toy compared to your LXDT06, Festool was right to discontinue it, because it was relatively incapable.

I'm not particularly a fan of the quick shift system on the Makita, but you can turn it off. Keep it, it'll serve you well.

Well, while most dealers are selling for $40.00, for some reason Amazon has returned to a $110 price for the 18V 4.2amps.

This is crazy because I just bought two from them for $40/each.  I decided I wanted more, so just ordered two more from Bob Marino at the "proper" new price of $40.00.
The Amazon price didn't change, Amazon is just out of stock on them so they shift to one of their resale partners. In this case it appears to be Hartville tool. Hartville tool probably just forgot to adjust the battery price. I've contacted them about an incorrect price before and their response and fix was crazy fast. Contact them through Amazon and bring it to their attention. I'm sure they'll have it fixed in short order.

My bad. I just took out my new (old stock) batteries to charge them and only then noticed that the two 15 v batteries had a belt clip, but the two 18 v batteries did not have a belt clip.

Is this the standard for these batteries?

Not sure if they were standard on the batteries I ordered, but they did come with the batteries that were included in the drills I bought.

Also, those clips are removable and can be put on other batteries. There is a small rectangular knob under the battery. You twist it perpendicular to the battery and the clip is removed. Do the same for a battery that you want the clip on. The problem with the clips is that you can't have both the clips AND the rubber battery base on at the same time. It's one or the other. Not really an issue, just the way they were designed.
