Agreed, Tom.  I like it.  Drawers are pretty shallow but than can work for some.

Thanks for posting.

Silverware, towels, placemats, knifes, most utensils, all low profile stuff.

Tom

I like that. I have a lot of low-profile trays in my kitchen so can completely see the utility of the drawer size. Excellent way to give better access on both sides.

I agree with the point about overly-shallow drawers - but that’s enormously clever and beautifully done. Bravo.

I like it a lot Tom...there are times when you need to access both sides of a corner cabinet and this solution solves that issue.  [big grin]

It also serves as a brilliant organization scheme affording two different classes for storage (say kitchen gear on the long side, serving things and possibly a "junk" drawer on the short).

If the drawers were all stacked on one edge, then one would have to memorize which had what sort of thing in it.

I’m not a fan of deep drawers, things get lost to easily. The vast majority of items that go in a drawer are not that tall. There is just over 3” of clearance between the drawer deck and the slide support for the intersecting drawer.

Woe unto the first guest in that house who tries to put something tall in one of the drawers on the left and close it thinking that it's a shallow box meant for post or pans or something.

Or don’t let your guests do any of the housekeeping. [big grin]

Screw in a sheet of clear acrylic with a label that says, “Do not load above this line”.

At least when they screw-up you can yell, “Can’t you read?!” And they can yell back, “Who builds drawers like this?!

[eek]

Tom,
we depend of you to provide fresh content, and this is certainly fresh!
well done, as always.
