I was bitten by a wolf spider a couple of weeks back - I was very happy ... the alternatives that also bite aggressively aren't nice round here.

I like to protect spiders unless they're venomous - then I protect me!

You have lots more nasties down there. Not sure the topless women on the beaches make up for it!

True story: While building our house we were essentially "living" in the barn (RV parked inside, living room setup amongst all the boxes, complete with TV and couches). We could only watch movies on DVD obviously , had to explain to my Mom how the cable company wouldn't install to a house that was just framed up....

Anyway, one night we're watching a movie and my wife yells out because there's a HUGE wolf spider crawling across the floor towards here. You know... the ones that look like a cluster of grapes? She grabbed for a couch pillow, I tried to stop her - you can imagine me leaping forward yelling "Nooooo!!!!" in slow motion.

But I was too slow. She nailed that thing good with the pillow. And all the "grapes" on it's back exploded into a fan of 100s of little baby wolf spiders.

I had quite a time with the spider spray.....
