Just curious. How do these differ from the 651 and 851? Looks like the latter may be made from multiple pieces vs. single piece of aluminum.

that appears to be the case. My guess is that the later ones are more economical to manufacture. If you think about it, the old version used a 3/4 inch thick piece of the cast plate and the wasted away a significant portion of the material. the new version uses 1/4 inch for all the pieces. It would seem to allow a much more efficient use of material since they are machining the edges and not reducing the thickness.

I hear ya but since switching to metric in the shop, I would love to get my hands on a metric set of the paolini pocket rules and the small metric t-squares.

I have the 640, love it, great little square. I would recommend anyone buy it if you need a small size. Don't think I'll be ordering an 850 though, seems like an odd in-between size I can probably do without. Also the $70 price tag doesn't thrill me.
It would be nice if they would find some other odds and ends lying around. There are a few one time tools I would pick up pretty quick.

I've talked with Richard and some of his staff from time to time and my impression is that they have a small but significant supply of "spares" when it comes to One Time Tools. It's a no-brainer, it's a necessity if you're serious about servicing your customer base. So...now's the time to reflect on what you missed and order accordingly. I know there are a few items I'm missing.
