A really dumb question about Protool

I know I've heard various theories, and all, but does anyone know the actual, honest to gosh, official reason that they haven't tried to bring Protool into the North American market?

It's all about "Is there a big market for protools?"

I guess Tooltechnic Systems doesn't have the resources to try to build another brand here in North America. Given the sluggish economy and the need to first better establish Festool in the market here I don't see Protool products making it here anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong and of course this is far from an official reason.
