Good day all! I have a larger built-in project coming up soon and I've found myself very frustrated trying to domino smaller parts. I will first say that for 1/2" & 3/4" parts, I don't register the domino off of the work surface. I use the domiplate...which I love...from RonWen! The only issues that i have is with trying to put dominos into smaller surfaces. I built this jig to lift my material off of the work surface so that i can safely domino my material and secure it as well.
Basically, I used a bunch of scrap ply...the main frame is all 3/4" thick and the top is 1/2" so that it would sit flush with the t-track. I wasn't aiming to make this pretty...just functional! I think my photos are pretty easy to understand...I tried to hold the Domino in one hand & take the photo with the other to give you an idea how it will be used.
The only thing I needed to purchase was the t-track and the woodpeckers hold downs. I also implemented the Kreg bench dogs so that I am able to stand a face frame on edge without it pushing out while I'm domino'ing!
Let me know if you have any questions!
