Hello All,

Father Bob and I took a ride to Rhode Island to visit John Lucas,

and shoot the the shiza in person. Well we had a wonderful time.

Bob being a shiza shooter of some renown, explains to John just

exactly how he would position his model's assistants on one of his shoots.

This picture of John just captures the essence of the man.

I think we will caption it as... These Visitors a Flippin nutz.

And while those two were shiza shootin
I played around with this.

Whille Bob and I exhanged stories of what we did it the sixties, Per schooled Elena on using the new Festool Kapex for installing crown molding. Per was a great teacher. Elena is now ahead of me in that art.

Sounds and looks like a great visit.  I wish that I had been there to meet you all (and to position the models assistants ).

Elena isn't listening to Per. She still has her ear protection on  ;D

Hey Per,

Did you get a chance to play with the crown stops?  I ordered them with the Kapex, but haven't really seen much about them.

Thanks, Dan

Maybe the two shiza were being too loud for her. :D

Dan,
They are great. You will wonder how you managed without them. I will be sure to cover in next woodshopdemos.com update.

Yes Dan.

The crown stops are elegant in their simplicity.

I can see every miter saw manufacturer smackin them selves

over this concept. I can also see them running to the design dept

and smackin them, admonishing said engineers to come up with something similar yesterday.

No really, this style saw has been on the market since 1983, give or take.

25 years guys.  Peachfuzz fellas(New deragatory word for family viewing)

If the rest of the industrialized world evolved this way, you would be traveling to Michigan on a biplane

to get the wooden spokes on your Corvette trued.

Did you notice in the first shot that John and I seem to use Renaissance wax on
our heads. In the next life get a padded head board.

Visiting with John was a delight, complete with fantastic subs for lunch loaded
with pepperachine.( can't spell that one, You know those spicy  little peppers.) One of my favorite veggies.

Being in the presence of a woodworking tool king maker is one of the advantages of
belonging to this great forum. John is unique and fills a bottomless niche in our world of
craft and craftsmanship.

Some how we need a regional Festool fest so we can all meet each other, Germany
would be fun.
Bob

Bob,

I agree! Germany would be fun.  Let's go.

Just for the record, I know you guys were only there to check out the shop assistants. :)
