Well, as typical, I got the flyer today telling me about the big Octoolberfest event starting this Thursday and continuing through Saturday.   [mad] I go through this every year with the owner, advising him to get these printed and out with preferably a months notice, but 2 weeks minimum would be nice.  In one ear and out the other I guess.  People might not attend (buy things) if they had prior plans or maybe they needed a reminder to save up for stuff -- again SALES, not to mention it's nice to look over the specials mailer well beforehand instead of 2 days before.  I'll be going one of those days, so maybe I'll catch up with some FOG members from the area.

Ken,

Where is this event?  I am guessing somewhere near you in NJ?

Ridgefield Park, NJ, not too far from Newark, and right by the George Washington Bridge.

So I went to the show today.  Festool rep Toby Haskins was there and somehow previously coersed Dave Reinhold to help out in a temporary rep capacity.

So here are lots of pictures from the event.  Unfortunately not much in the way of tool manufacturer demo trucks as in the past and no Miss Makita this year.  Wow is the economy bad.  [big grin]

Let's get it out of the way!  Here's Toby, Dave and Me

Ken:

I noticed that you had some issues with Flexzilla hoses that I had never encountered before. Would you care to discuss them? I use them and have had my friends use them as well and I think they are the "Cat's Meow". I think most other hoses I've used were closer to the litter box...

The only fault I found with mine so far has been that it's a little easier to accidently crimp over itself and cut off the air supply to the attached tool.  I can usually avoid that by making sure the hose is totally uncoiled and laying straight.  My Flexeel does it too, but not as easily.

I wanted to make it to this event, but I thought it was sometime in.... well, October ::)

I didn't know they had Festools, as they aren't listed on the AW Meyer website.  I wanted to check out the Sawstops and other table saws.

The show is over, but all the goodies are still there and for sale as always.  At least now you'll be able to park where the vendors were set up instead of way down the street.

Wow, I feel horrible that I missed this thread. I have been preoccupied with some projects lately and haven't been as active on the forum as normal.

Dave, I have to admit, you look good in the Festool shirt and cleaned up pretty decent.  [tongue] Hope you had fun hanging with Toby and running some tools. Pretty cool.  [thumbs up]
